Universal Carpet warrants all tile and stone labor for a period of two years from the completion of installation. This warranty applies to the installation of stone flooring purchased from Universal Carpet and installed by Universal Carpet’s experts over cement board purchased from and installed by Universal Carpet. Tile and stone can be installed over existing concrete if flat, not flaking, not damp, or not cracked. This warranty does not apply to installation of tile and stone flooring installed over customer prepared cement board.

Types of services provided at no charge under the terms of this warranty include the repair of, or replacement of transitional materials (metal, vinyl strips, etc.) which may become loose. Slight separations are to be expected in grout. Cracks in the grout can be filled using premixed grout purchased from Universal Carpet. This maintenance is essential to protect the underlying surface from moisture damage. Tile and stone are durable materials, but they still may chip, crack, or scratch if mistreated, placed under excessive amounts of pressure, or receive a firm blow. Such chips, cracks, or scratches are not a result of inferior quality of product or craftsmanship and are not covered under this warranty. The removal of furniture and appliances are the responsibility of the customer or can be provided for a charge.

This warranty does not apply to repairs necessitated by abuse, flooding, improper maintenance, foundation settling, or subfloor movement. Consequential or incidental damages resulting from other installation services are not covered by this warranty.
